Oranges often get most of the attention when it comes to the benefits of citrus fruits, but don’t sleep on lemons! They actually have lots of benefits in their own right. Adding lemon to your room temperature or warm water in the morning has been shown to help improve digestion. Plus, lemon is a great source of vitamin C which helps fight inflammation in the body. 💪
Some people also say that lemon helps promote weight loss, but we’re not totally sold. There isn’t great evidence that consuming lemon itself helps you lose weight, but adding it to water does seem to help you drink more. Considering most of us don’t drink enough water, a nutrient that is key for optimal function of our entire body (including metabolism), I can see how lemon may help some maintain a healthy weight!
