Common Questions

The name “Sound” was inspired by our vision for a sparkling beverage made without sweeteners, artificial ingredients or mystery flavors -- in other words, a sparkling beverage made with only “sound” ingredients. In addition to being an adjective that we felt represented our ingredients, “sound” also accurately described our mission to help people live healthier lives by drinking less sugar and sweeteners.

At SOUND we use certified organic tea, botanicals and fruit extracts rather than the natural or artificial flavors found in most sparkling waters. While our products are crisp and refreshing like a sparkling water, the SOUND difference is the ingredients we use. All of our products are completely unsweetened, Certified Organic, Certified Non-GMO, Kosher Certified, and Whole30 Approved.

Our “sparkling teas” are in glass bottles and the “sparkling waters” are in BPA-NI cans. The primary differences are in the body and flavor structure; the sparkling teas are more full-bodied -- like a sparkling iced tea -- while the tea-infused sparkling waters are lighter and more fruit-forward -- like a sparkling water.

Product Details

Yes! Our products are completely free of all sweeteners. Some beverages say “unsweetened”, but they really mean “no sugar added”. When we say “unsweetened”, we mean it.

We use Certified Organic Extracts rather than natural flavors in our products. To learn more about the differences between natural flavors and organic extracts, check out our post here.

Yes, our products are USDA Certified Organic.

Yes, our products are Certified Non-GMO.

Yes, we are Kosher Certified. Our Kosher designation is OU.

We do not use any chemical preservatives in our products. We do include Certified Organic Citric Acid as an “acidulant”, which helps to lower the pH of the beverage to a point where bacteria cannot grow. The Citric Acid we use is one of the only Certified Organic citric acids on the market.

Packaging & Storage

Prior to opening, our products do not need to be kept refrigerated. After opening, the product should be kept refrigerated and consumed within 7 days.

The date printed on each bottle or can is the “Best By” date. We recommend consuming the product prior to this date for the best experience.

The sediment in your bottle or can is from the real-brewed tea and botanicals we use. Just like after steeping a cup of hot tea, there are some small particles from the tea that settle to the bottom. For the best experience, you can gently shake the bottle to bring the sediment back into consistency.

While there is technically no such thing as “BPA-Free” considering that BPA is so widely occurring in our environment, our cans are as close as it comes. The style of can we use is called BPA-Non Intent (or BPA-NI). This means that BPA was not intentionally added to the material itself; our cans do not use any bisphenols in production. Yes! Our teas and botanicals are actually steeped using a much larger-scale version of how you would brew loose leaf tea at home. We then boil off excess water and combine the tea extracts with sparkling water.

Sometimes an order will show as “fulfilled” and you will receive a tracking number, but that tracking number will not actually show a forecasted delivery date until it’s picked up by UPS. If you received a tracking number that does not show a status, please check again the following business day and you should see movement. If you’re still having issues, please email us at
