Our Rose Tea with Lime & Cardamom was inspired by a drink Salim (our co-founder) had growing up. In his native Lebanese culture, rose water is extremely common! His grandmother used to mix rose water with other delicious ingredients like cardamom or cinnamon. Salim knew that Rose Tea would be a perfect addition to the Sound family!
You may be wondering: is rose tea the same as rosehips tea?
These two seem like they would be the same, but they actually are not! Rose tea is made from whole dried rose petals, while rosehip tea is made from the fruit of the rose tea.
The Benefits.
Rose petals have been found to be a good source of polyphenols, compounds found in plants that are believed to act as antioxidants. This means that they fight cellular damage that can cause disease and illness.
Plus, rose tea is naturally caffeine-free. So if you’re caffeine sensitive or looking for a refreshing beverage later on in the day that won’t keep you up in the night, Rose Tea could be the perfect fit!
